WFC Manitoba player selected to attend Generation Adidas Team Tour

Calado will be joining the current Whitecaps FC Academy 2003/2004 team for the tour, which will see the team train with coaches from the Real Madrid Foundation at the state-of-the-art Real Madrid facilities. The group will also play competitive matches against both the Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano Academy Teams. 

The fifteen-year-old attacking midfielder, who plays his club soccer with Bonivital SC, impressed at the Whitecaps FC High Potential Player Combine which took place in Burnaby, BC from November 12^th to 16^th. Fifty-five male players from across the country attended the combine, and only four players were identified to join the Whitecaps Academy Youth Team on this tour. 

Matt Thomas, MSA Technical Director, commented, “We are so proud of AJ’s progress through the program. Not only the growth he has shown on the field, but his leadership qualities he carries into his daily life. With seeing AJ taking this leap we are hoping many more Manitobans will be inspired to go after their dreams. Hard work and a true love of the game is unstoppable for any player.”
